Emory accepted three boys out of four who applied early from my school. I go to a small private school in Manhattan, and there are less than 100 people in my grade. I am a girl and I'm pretty sure I have a higher GPA/ better extracurriculars than at least one or two who applied... not sure about SATs. Anyway, here's my question: What do you think are the chances that Emory would accept another student from my school? Do you think it helps that I'm a girl (as opposed to the three boys who were already accepted) and have higher stats than some who got in early?

Thanks!! Any input/ personal experience or knowledge would be greatly appreciated! :)

i haven't heard that emory has school quotas but i think you have a very good chance, but who knows they could pull something like their friends in st. louis

haha, i am not a big fan of their "friends in st. louis." i received a lovely letter from them in the mail today. thanks nanette h tarbouni, i don't like you.

I don't think Wash U and Emory have school quotas- or at least not very small ones. My brother goes to Wash U with 3 other members of his high school class (from our fairly small prep school- his class ('04) had 98 students). I know at least a few others were admitted. That year 5 students went to Emory. This year I've heard of 6 or 7 kids admitted to Wash U so far, another 2 wait-listed. 3 to Emory (2 were ED2, the other was accidently sent an admission letter addressed to an EDII music student with the same name, they told him he was accepted RD anyway when he called to sort it out), 1 student was (in an odd case) deferred ED1.
