What do you think?

Well, I must take CHM 2045/2045L my first semester, but unfortunately the professor I got is horrible teachingwise and attitudewise (at least according to ratemyprofessor.com.) What do you think I should do? Is there any way for me to get another gen chem prof? Do students EVER get to pick profs?

Yes, generally you can pick your professor if there is more than one teaching the specific course. The way you do this is choose the section with the professor that you prefer. The professors who are teaching the class are listed in that large, floppy, schedule of courses catalog or on the website: http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/soc/200608/all/ . Note: all courses do not yet have the professors listed yet.. so.. you're playing russian roulette :)

You can attempt to change sections on August 1 which is the first day we are allowed to amend our courses.

How do u know what teacher u got for chm2045? None of the teachers are listed yet. Only way you will know is if you went to the engineering presentation and signed up for chemistry for engineers(but that teacher doesnt seem to be that bad) And if your are referring to Horvath for chm2045L, there is no way around it...he is the professor for all of them

Correction: Horvath is the head coordinator for CHM2045L. He does not teach the lab. You are assign a TA for the lab with a group of about 15-20 students. You only see Horvath for questions relating to missing a class, grades, etc.

What professor did you sign up for in fall?

You can always change you section later on. The section he/she teaches just needs to be open.

puppydogeyes... who is the teacher? Maybe I can give a first hand perspective.

Well, the teacher is Horvath...I have no clue what he is REALLY like, but from what I've heard, there are better CHM2045 teachers out there...

I have horvath to I wish I could change
