What do you think...

hi guys,
I'm Linda Lucy and I am applying to Tech as one of my top schools. What do you think my chances are?
GPA-3.4

SAT-Writing-700
Math-550
Reading-730

In state (Virginia beach area)

tons of extracariculars (president of Dancer's Club, Secretary of French honor
society, National honor society, National math honor society, vp of young liberals club)

6 APs

Race-white, female

Community service:
food bank (since 9th grade)
homeless shelter (9-11th)

only problem is that I got a D in Calculus my junior year. and that dragged down my gpa and class rank (20%).

So what do you guys think??

I think you are in. You are like my D. Math was her weakness.

What were you doing in calculus your junior year anyway? You've got a good shot.

thanks guys!

you don't think the D will hurt my chances?

To which school are you applying? If you said engineering, I'd say you could definitely count on being rolled over into University Studies, b/c the Calculus D and the math sat are definitely not good enough. With your writing and reading score so high, I'm guessing liberal arts to start, so yes, you still look very good.

I was assuming you were going into something that isn't math/engineering/maybe science. If you're going into those three you might have more trouble.
