hey im a newcomer to the act and was wonderin what is the best book for science on this test? if anyone would respond i would really appreciate it. thanksss

First get the real act study book. It has three tests, do them and look over your wrong answers. If you want more, get the mcgraw hill book with, i think 8 or 10 practice tests, and take all of them. Mcgraw is usually accurate (sometimes a little easier, but it is very good practice)

Here's the thing about the "science" section:
It's not science! It requires no previous scientific knowledge in any subject whatsoever. Rather, it is the ability to analyze data and graph and extrapolate knowledge from opposing viewpoints. Many people have problems with the science section because they do not have enough time to finish the entire section. What I usually do it go directly to the questions for those sections which are based on data/graph analysis and refer back to the data whenever the question asks to do so. However, for the "opposing viewpoints" section, I actually go through and read the opinion of both of the viewpoints w/o actually looking at the questions.

To answer your question about which books are best, I would recommend (as would most others) the The Real ACT prep book as well as PR's and Barron's book. The ACT is very different from the SAT, so best of luck.

You don't need a separate science book for this. stockguru is right...they don't really test your science knowledge.

Just use the standard prep books...official guide + Cracking the ACT.

Stock is right. All you need for science is how to pick out specific information from reading, understand graphs, and WORK FAST.

I think the science part is simply management of your time instead of critical interpretation
