GPA: Cumm. 3.29
SAT: Math - 490 / Critical Reading - 480 / Writing - 580
Extra-Curriculars: Student Council President, Homeroom Representative (two years), Attended Leadership Conference in California, Chosen for Pilgramage to Lourdes France, Kairos Retreat Leader, Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Work, National Art Honor Society (two years), Spirit Club (four years), attended Lead America: Leadership University, Photography Class and Club, Award for Merit in Photography, Yearbook Staff (three years), Newspaper Staff (three years), "Safety Town Program" volunteer, "Light the Night" volunteer, "NJ Baseball Program" Volunteer
Sports: Field Hockey (Varsity Field Hockey Player [four years] , Varsity Field Hockey Captain [two years], Selected for “Eastern Field Hockey Camp All Star Team”, Selected for “USA Futures Team”, Coach’s Dedication Award Recipient, Harderst Worker Awrd Recipient) / Soccer (Varsity Soccer Player [four years], Varsity Soccer Captain [two years], All Catholic Honor Recipient [two years]) / Winter Track and Field (two year team member and member of state qualify 4x200 relay team)

Others: Attended two open houses, went to meetings when SJU attended school, and went for an interview</p>

<p>You may have trouble getting in because the SAT is the most important factor in admissions at most colleges, and the average SAT score for those that attend SJU is around 1110 (math and reading). Just my honest assessment.</p>

<p>Did you get a Legacy scholarship? Just curious. Thought SAT's would need to be higher for a scholarship.</p>

<p>i got a 5,000 a year scholarship: i got it for my academic and extracurricluar achievements.. i did have a letter sent in my name though, from a very well known graduate who donates a lot of money to the school annually.. idk if that helped or not though?</p>

<p>I got the same scholarship as her with a 1000 SAT and a 3.25 GPA.
I know another who got $9,000 with a 3.5 GPA and 980 SAT.
So no, your SAT do not need to be high to get a 5-9,000 scholarship</p>

<p>Did you guys apply for financial aid or scholarships? Or did you just receive that as a bonus to your acceptance letter?</p>
