Have you considered consulting the American Philatelic Society?

No, but thanks for the suggestion!
Got my dad’s old car and now a van to get rid of. What is best way to dispose of them?
Need to get rid of dad’s old car pretty quickly.
It depends on whether they are worth much. Around us, lots of quick/easy options to donate to nonprofits such as Colorado Public Radio - they come and pick it up, give tax receipt.
We donated to St. Vincent de Paul. Easy. They came for the car with all required paperwork. I vaguely remember that some organizations do the same, but through a 3rd party, so 3rd party shares in any ‘profits’.
I agree…donate.
I took my siblings old truck with a broken odometer and rust to Carmax and they gave me $700 which his heir was happy to get.
We have done both with old cars, donate and take to CarMax. We had one of the first PT Cruisers and took it to CarMax years ago. They found some rust underneath (from floodwater) and offered us $800. We took the offer and it was a very easy, quick process . Very glad we did not spend money to fix the air conditioning before we took it out there!
We have also sold old cars to Carmax for several hundred dollars each.
We have also sold a car to a junk yard. He came and picked it up with a tow truck and gave a bit of money. People around here go to the junk yard and buy a door or hood or whatever part they need off of undrivable cars sitting there.
Gosh - could old Pyrex really be worth $100? It seems like there would not be demand for old stuff. I once had this exact bowl. (The kids broke it and “forgot” to tell me. Took me a while to miss it since we had a clear bowl same size).
Having dealt with Replacements, what they sell for is VERY different from the prices at which they buy. So it might be worth that if you are buying, but unlikely to be so if selling.
To their credit, they are picky about condition and they inventory lots of stuff, so they play a valuable role, especially for a buyer. But if you are the seller of the bowl they sell for $100, you might get $25 or $30 for it.
We have been to the Replacements store in NC. It was actually fun walking through…but their prices are much higher than other places. Then again…they do get things that are discontinued and that helps some folks.
Pyrex bowls, especially certain ones, are sought by collectors. Same with certain Pyrex casseroles.
I have that yellow Pyrex bowl. I got it from my mother when she downsized. As kids, we always referred to it as the “brownie bowl”. When we saw it on the counter, we all knew we were getting brownies for dessert.
I have some bowls that were part of a Sunbeam mixer set in the 50s or 60s. Apparently they are pretty valuable. I actually had the beaters and maybe even the mixer, but I tossed all but the bowls. Oh well… who has time to look all this stuff up?
Who has time to sell it all?
Most people don’t have time to sell stuff from an estate. But I can see how it could be good to have somebody with an educated eye come through, pull out things perhaps collectible. With the lack of interest in old china etc, the Pyrex surprised me.
Pyrex is mid century modern cool. MCM is highly desirable by younger adults - and older adults going back to some of what they knew as a kid.
You’ll find Pyrex for sale on everything from FB marketplace to EBay and Etsy.
My mom had that yellow mixing bowl too! Mansfield - it also brings back fond memories for me of her in the kitchen!! (although we never got brownies, just 1970s style meatloaf, mac n cheese, etc.!). lol
I have that bowl. I use it to proof bread in it.
