What do you wish you knew about Wellesley before you went there?

Who the good professors are!

Anyone know of a place to find this out?

Ratemyprofessor.com?

Within Firstclass, Wellesley has a students-only forum called "Opinions-Classes", organized by department, with some general categories like popularity, distribution requirements, withdrawing/credit-non, and "easy five or fun." You'll be able to access it before registration and can talk about anything but grades. I've found the forum only somewhat useful. Who teaches what changes from year to year, and sometimes when you do have a choice of professors (not a choice at all in small departments), many people can only speak for one person. Also, the forum isn't a hotbed of discussion, so most of the information comes from people who graduated five years ago.

My mom had me convinced that I needed to worry about a rug for the floor and whether or not I should bring an electric blanket. In retrospect, I wish I had thought about very different things. Because, honestly, you can figure out rugs and blankets later without affecting your college experience.

What I wish I had known (or learned earlier in college):

How to constitute a SOFC-funded organization.
The Senate vans are available to all orgs and individuals for a very small fee.
ZipCar is a great deal.
Sleep well and regularly. You'll get more done and be happier for it.
Professors get lonely when no one comes to their office hours.
Sponsored lectures are great!
Controversial lectures are even better ;)
Learn how to find information on the college's website.
Befriend your class dean. She will be the best resource you can imagine.
Go to dorm study breaks. They might be cheesy, but they're fun.
Dining hall food is infinitely better than Easy Mac.
Not scorching popcorn in the floor kitchens takes no more effort than burning it, and will earn you fewer glares in the hallway as everyone files out while the fire alarm wails and big red trucks squeeze into impossibly narrow roads.
