I had a parent ask me. At her child’s school, if you get a D or F for certain math and English classes, you get a NC instead of a grade on the transcript and it doesn’t count in the school’s GPA.
But what would AMCAS do with that NC?
Supposedly this is for Frosh Comp and “freshman math”. However, I guess Calc I and Calc II aren’t considered to be “freshman math” because they don’t use the NC thing. (never heard that Calc I and II aren’t frosh math as well. ?? )
Best to ask over on SDN. My recollection is that it’s treated as an F.
Try reading the table on pp. 2-4

It depend on how passing grades are recorded. If passing grades are recorded as anything other than P (Pass) or C (Credit), it appears a NC will be counted as equivalent as a F.
That’s what I thought. Shows as NC…so an F.
