What Does An Acceptance Or Wait List Letter Look Like

Congratulations to everyone who got into the school/schools they wanted.

About the personalization - does it sound odd if we request the school for input if the student is waitlisted. This is specific to Exeter which waitlisted with a generic email. The odds of getting taken out of waitlist are very very small but now thinking of using this as a learning experience and want to see where they are expecting improvements and/or why waitlisted instead of admit/rejection. Want to get this input without jeopardizing any minimal waitlist->admit chances - any tips on how to do that?

@soxdad- I think your best bet is to wait until after their last scheduled revisit day or A11 to ask that question. Just an FYI- A10 is nuts at all BSs because it’s the deadline day for contracts/ deposits- so don’t call on that day.

Your child, if he/she hasn’t already, will send an email to admissions accepting a place on their WL ( with delivery and read receipts ! ) It’s not uncommon for parents to call for a WL status update shortly before the A10 deadline - especially if Exeter is still your FC school and your child has to act on another acceptance from another school .

That said- if it’s just a WL status update call without any urgency, I would ask for feedback from the AO during that call.

Again, the timing of your call is completely up to you, but I think you’ll have a better chance at getting the candid feedback you seek closer to, or after the A10 deadline.

Hope this helps- All the best and good luck!
