What does being valedictorian count for?

I am looking for some perspective of where I stand as I refine my college search. I am the valedictorian of my class, but my school is not very competitive. I'm ranked 1/75 with UW GPA 3.9 and W GPA 4.3. I took 2 AP classes (US History, English Language) junior year and senior year I am taking 3 (Literature, Calc AB, Physics B), and the remaining of classes honors, except for 1 college prep class to fill schedule and 1 study hall each year. The only AP classes my school offers that I haven't taken are Art, Statistics, and Biology (Biology was not offered until this year).

What I wonder is what this counts for? I think the admission officers will recognize that my school isn't very competitive, since it is a 75 person class and my 2 AP class schedule ranks me at #1. What does the simple fact that I have the highest GPA in my class mean in college admissions at reach colleges?
