Brown rejects people with perfect scores in favor of students with lower scores but maybe some other attractive aspect. what are those aspects and what do they look for to show a “fit” for Brown?
It’s really unpredictable sometimes. For me, I’ve had a unique senior year, sculpted to include four high school courses, part-time internship, college course, and a job 20 hrs/week. In one of my short responses I explained how this proves I’ll thrive in Brown’s open curriculum: given freedom, I know how to organize my priorities and stay productive. Just research what really makes Brown so special, and try to reflect it in your writing if it’s not apparent in the rest of your app. At this point, you either have it or you don’t. Don’t drive yourself crazy though… Again, elite college admission often feels like a lottery.
