Do you use CC only for serious academic matters or just for dicking around and chatting? Rate yourself on a scale from 1 to 10, where a 10 would be someone who's all business even at the log-in screen (1 would probably be close to a troll, and would probably not be contributing anything to the CC community other than lulz).

I didn’t realize there was a log-in screen.

^ Looks like we’ve got ourselves a 1 right here…

Yeah, I guess you’re right. Well, you get the idea

Well, I’m obviously a very new member, but as you can probably see by looking at my posts, I’ve mainly only been using CC for academic purposes. Who knows though, this might change in the, but I’m trying not to get too addicted. (;

CC is my source of procrastination.

^^ Careful buddy, it’s definitely a slippery slope. BTW, can we get some numbers out here? I’m going with a 4 (6 on pton thread and 2 everywhere else).

Nah, you don’t get 3K posts chilling in HSL all the time. The 1’s are the people with totally recognizable names that joined 15 months ago yet only have 50 posts.

I’m a 4. I’m here for the lulz but, i’ll throw in something intelligent once in a while.

@ heaven So what’s your rating then? 5? Don’t tell me all 3k posts address serious academic issues and somehow contribute to the CC community!

@daxlo yeah, that’s sorta the way I’m going about things. Sometimes I do have real questions for upperclassmen and sometimes I give little nuggets of advice, but these moments are rare.

Eh, CC (HSL specifically) is a good place for lulz and discussion for me, but aside from 10-20 minutes a day, it’s not much more.

= Me

About a 6, 7-8 on my good days.

I’m a 2 or 3. Next year I’ll probably be a 5 or 6 since I’ll start venturing into the SAT Prep and AP Tests forums.

I started out between an 8 and a 9. Ever since I’ve discovered HSL, I’ve dropped down to a 5 or 6. Still, my main purpose for using CC is to help me do well in school without doing as much work…and also to hold intelligent conversations with people about the Monty Hall problem who actually understand why the probability doesn’t shift to 50/50 once one door is removed.

^haha, what’s to discuss? Wikipedia and any stats book will tell you anything you need to know and CONVERT THE NON-BELIEVERS

I never understood the monty hall problem.

I lie in between 4-5

Understanding why it doesn’t shift to 50/50 isn’t a hard concept.

Sadly… only my math teachers understand that.

The first time I heard of the Monty Hall problem, the teacher neglected to explain that the host always picks a door without the big prize. That’s a pretty key part.

haha so true. I’ve hardly contributed anything either. I’d be like a 2 on this scale
