What does first generation college student mean?

<p>Im wondering what this actually means. I heard that a first generation college students is someone whose parents did not get an undergraduate degree? My parents are both immigrants from nigeria, my mom went to undergrad in Nigeria and grad in the US and my dad did grad school and got his phd in the US. Am I a first generation or not??</p>

<p>Nope - first generation usually means that your parents did not go to any college at all and have no degrees. </p>
