Please designate your gender self-identity/expression:

thank you.

Yes, it means transexual.

what school is this for exactly?

it's the halls for the transexual, asexuals, and intersexuals.

What's the difference between the three?

And uc_benz, that comment is totally off base.

I thought gender neutral mean coed rooms...or gender would not be considered when making room assignments

@eireann: I thought co-ed dorms were "non-parietal". . .

Isn't that where the hemaphrodites live?

Nom, you're probably right, I don't really know what I'm talking about. ;) But could they have different names at different colleges or something?

I just googled it. It seems to mean coed dorm rooms in some places anyway.

Call your schools office of reslife and ask them. That way you get the correct answer, without all the bigoted remarks.

No, you cannot sue (well you can sue anybody for anything, but in this case the judge will throw you out). You sign housing and attendance contracts where you agree to abide by their rules. If they say you can't do something then you cant. Think how you can get in trouble in HS for tobacco posession (or squirt gun posession) even if it perfecly legal for you to have in normal circumstances.

A few schools are on a silly, politically correct mission to promote "gender-neutrality" because people are being disenfranchised that human civilisation only lets us "choose" between one of two genders. Here at NYU, there is a big loony movement of people bemoaning the fact that the school has no "gender-neutral" bathrooms.... the reason? Because having to choose which bathroom you use forces you to pick a gender "identity."

In 2005, having a men's room and a ladies' room is against "gender rights." sigh Oh dear...

Actually, there are only two definite sexes you can be born into. Once born, you can choose between the two, to some degree, if you're highly motivated. Occasionally, people get stuck somewhere in the middle at birth. That's where sexuality and gender really come into play. Sexuality describes who you are attracted to as a potential romantic partner. Clearly, there are more than two choices. To name a few, you can be homosexual, bisexual, heterosexual, omnisexual, etc. Gender is a social construct. It's no surprise that people don't necessarily align themselves with one or the other gender stereotype.

I believe that bathrooms should be based on sex, not gender. I think you'll see it the same way once you understand the distinctions between the three words "sex", "sexuality", and "gender".

^ I'm laughing my head off. Welcome to America... But actually, I was in France of spring break and the high schools had gender-neutral bathrooms. I hope America never becomes anything like France...

Oh, what I would do to keep you from acting on that hope. . .

It's hilarious how these post evolve from dorms to guns.

LMFAO

Please keep posts courteous and to the topic of the thread.
Thanks for your cooperation.

I would recommend calling the admissions office of your school for the answer.

Nope. "Hermaphrodites" don't live there. Intersex individuals do, though! Hermaphrodites can be found in nature. Many worms and fish display this in their life cycles. But hermaphrodites don't go to college. Never. You will, however, find intersexuals in school. Understand?
