What does it mean to be Upper Division Standing?

<p>Or better worded: What does it require to be UD standing?</p>

<p>I am looking to apply for a job that requires me to be upper division standing.
I can take upper division courses, but I have yet to satisfy all of my lower division requirements. So am I upper division standing? </p>

<p>Additional information: I'm a freshman, but I am sophomore standing.</p>

<p>Can anyone take upper division classes? Or do you need a certain number of units first?</p>

<p>It depends on the prereqs. Many will say that you must be in upper division standing while many wont.</p>

<p>Sometimes you can email the dept if you have fewer than 90 units and ask for permission to enroll.</p>
