What does it mean when FASFA says they can't process my application for UT?

It says they can't process it because I haven't been admitted to UT Austin.
I was accepted in November though but still haven't accepted my admission.
Or are admitted and accepted a different thing...?
I applied to McCombs and havent heard anything so im assuming i didnt get in, but i want to know if i got into the school of undergraduate studies. I just want to know already :( I applied priority deadline and havent gotten any information about my major, yet my friends who applied in december and even a few days after the deadline already go their acceptance letters in the mail and know what school they got into.
im just getting paranoid and worried about everything :(

Also under the financial tab on MyStatus it says financial aid decisions wont be made until i'm "officially admitted", what does this mean?

edit: oh when i clicked on the link to either admit or decline it says 2013 freshmen application for undergraduate studies/undeclared, does that mean i got into that school? it doesnt say that anywhere else though

I have a similar question, actually. I got an email saying they couldn’t process my 13-14 FAFSA until I was admitted. The only problem is that I’m applying as a transfer, so I probably won’t find out for a few months. In the meantime, I know that I was selected for verification because that’s what it said on my FAFSA, so I’ll need to turn in other forms. I can’t even access these forms before I’m admitted.

How can I make sure everything’s in before the financial aid priority deadline (which is March 15th, I believe) if they won’t process my documents until after I’m admitted? Even without my verification documents, will I still be considered as applying before the priority deadline for awarding purposes?

I would call them to ask, but I’ve been so busy with work and school, and by the time I have the free time to call, they’re already closed. :S

I am confused by both posts.
What FAFSA exactly? FAFSA webpage or UT OSFS? And who sent email about FAFSA verification? OSFS?

Have you already filed taxes? On paper or online?
If you did it online verification can be avoided.

YaYa-- some types of verification can be avoided by linking taxes online, but the Data Retrieval is only one type of verification.

To both posters above-- I would assume that UT will not be processing your FAFSA until you hear back from your particular major-- so while you were accepted into the university, you have not yet been admitted into your major.

I received an email from UT Fin Aid about receiving and processing my FAFSA, and I have been admitted into my major, so I’d assume Fin. Aid won’t start the process on you until they know that you have been admitted into a major (because if, for example, you aren’t admitted into McCombs, they don’t want to deal with the students who will no longer wish to attend). However, pick up the phone and call them! Financial aid is important, and it’s important that you understand what’s going on with you specifically.

I did get the time to call them yesterday. I haven’t been admitted yet. Was just worried about my stuff going in by the deadline. They told me not to send them any verification stuff until I am admitted, but that I’ll still be considered as having submitted everything on time for awarding purposes.
