What does it mean when "Second choice majors are NOT considered"?

Does it mean that the major, that states (second choice majors are not considered), is not considered if it is your 2nd choice or is it saying that whatever your 2nd choice major may be, it will not be considered be it you were admitted to your first choice or denied.

Most schools that state 2nd choice majors are not considered, mean if you are not admitted into your first choice major that a 2nd choice will not be considered for admission. Some schools may then admit you into undeclared or reject you completely. It really depends upon if the school admits by major, by college or into the university first then major second.

I appreciate your response! I believe the school admits by major. Someone else responded on another thread and has replied with a different response. He said that if the major that states “second choice majors are not considered” then if you put that major as your second choice, then it will be ignored.

Yes, if the 2nd choice major is “not considered” it will essentially be ignored. Same thing as I stated, 2nd choice major is not used for admission.
