hello all,
what does it take to get into stanford, harvard, or any of the best, ivy medical schools?
i have read previous posts about this topic, but they are very confusing and people often stray from the topic. so i am requesting a "clear-cut" answer.
i dont want exact specifications, because i know thats impossible, but just some basic stuff from people who have gotten in these schools and can share their background.
PLEASE HELP!!!

can someone please answer?

I would say top ten percent of your class. 34>MCAT score

I don't know anyone that has applied to those medical schools, but here's essentially what they are looking for.
-High GPA
-High MCAT score
-Extracurriculars relating to the medical field (volunteering at hospitals/clinics, medical research, etc.). Long term commitment to activities.
-Making a good impression at the interview
-Excellent recommendations and essays

i mean undergrad..
i am a sophomore in high school right now...
what is the basic stufF? i mean colunteering at hospitals....etc etc?

People I know who are applying to med schools or are already in med school... have told me that a high GPA and MCAT are obviously important, but that you definitely want to do research as well. Research and volunteering at hospitals and such.

how do u approach research, like what do u have to do to start research.

Probably talk to a professor or something one day, and see if there is anything you can get involved with either with that professor, or with somebody the professor knows.
