what does it take to be in the top 10% of your class?

Getting a 4.0 unweighted. My school ranks unweighted GPAs, which is why I'm not in the top 10%. That also means there are a lot of top 10%'ers who just take easy classes.

I'd say somewhere over a.. 95 average or something.

90 averages yield around the 100s. Top 10% would be top 60.

I bombed my first two years - Mid 80s. I'll be top 250, if I am that lucky.

You need to be in to top 50-60. I'm guessing that's around a 3.75-3.8 GPA.

I have a solid 3.000 and I'm exactly at 60th %ile.

4.0 Unweighted and 8.25/8.0 weighted. :(

then whats top 4% of your senior class mean?

Top 3 for us (class of 30) .... not competitive at all... I am valedictorian with a 3.9 (no weighting system) but top three are very close. I don't feel like it took that much to get first.
