<p>but realisticly speaking, the thing that will get you into yale, besides having good sats and a good gpa, and dedicating ec's, will be a hook which can be represented in your family background, talent, etc. Essays will also be more important. I personally wouldn't try to worry about getting a 1600 or scoring that high on your SAT's because everyone there will have high sat scores, they won't be impressed just to see another 4.0 1600 student.</p>
<p>I can't emphasize how important a hook is. Having a real good hook will get you in even if you have like a 1300.</p>

<p>Yale? I checked your stats too. You need almost perfect SAT Is, SAT IIs, GPA, and better than top 4% of your class to have a chance to make it.</p>
