What does it take to transfer from jc to UCR or UCI?

I am majoring in Psych and plan to take 60 units, including th IGETC and premajor psych classes. Curious about how competetive it is GPA-wise.

Competitiveness is nonexistent.

yeah just finish the igetc and have 60+ units and you are golden

UCR does have a tag for their honors program and UCI has a tap for their honors program, so look into that though at your cc because those will be great to be in if those are the schools you want to go to

UCR and UCI have TAG. I know UCI requires a 3.0 GPA for TAG. I’m not sure about UCR, though.

Either UCI and UCR I wish to attend. If they still offer lower-division acceptance, that would be even better.

UCR is a breeze, because I got in as a freshman. Note: I did poorly my sophomore and junior year.

Lol I doubt you would want to apply as a lower division transfer… assuming you did poorly in HS and that is the reason why you are attending a jc…they look at your HS record. If you transfer as a junior they wont!

what does it take to transfer to UCI or UCR?

a pulse! haha j/k

psych program for UCR average gpa = 3.08
psych program for UCI average gpa = 3.40

There is also a TAG agreement between community colleges which stipulates min gpa is 3.0…

Good luck!

Sephorazn18, UCI is part of the “lower division”? really?

He meant as a lower division transfer aka didn’t finish pre-reqs for first two years. But OP already said he will be finish 60 units, IGETC, and pre -reqs so that means he will be a junior transfer.
