What does JHU look for in an applicant (undergrad transfer)?

Hello, I just finished high school with less-than-stellar stats
(3.0, a few ECs, 2 APs, etc... but I did graduate in 3 years) and I am looking to go to CC for a year. I got into other schools, but I feel that this would be a better option as I won't get distracted from the college scene-- it will be strictly schooling.

What I want to know is: what the heck does JHU look for in an applicant? I know that transferring is HARD, but how could I make myself most appealing to the admissions committee?

Should I take some honor courses at CC if it means risking my 4.0 gpa? Also, I want to take 2 foreign languages this year (Spanish and Arabic, hopefully!!!), and join a club.

What should I do to get admitted to Johns Hopkins?! Any input is appreciated!

Come on, guys :frowning:
Help me out?

it would prob be best to go to a 4 yr uni if you really want to transfer to JHU.
if you plan to transfer in 1 year, make sure your SAT scores are up to par.

I would also recommend taking more science than the extra language unless you’re planning to go to IR. make sure you take some GE’s too (not just major prep)

you’re reasons for transfer (ur essay) is really, really important.
and for elite privates, they like recs that say ‘one of the best i had’ etc
