weighted GPA of 3.8 or unweighted?
MIT want students who take full opportunities of their environment. If you are getting GPA of 4.0 but having the easiest classes(just for GPA...) it's likely they will chose someone with slightly lower GPA but much more prestigious classes(like APs)
But it's advised not to take APs if you are going to get really bad grades on them(like Cs). But having a few Bs is acceptable, MIT doesn't expect every student to be perfect.

unweighted
