<p>I am in the midst of finalizing my college list and I am aware that most colleges compiled a list called "most popular major".</p>
<p>What does this mean to a prospective student? Does it speak of the disciplinary strength of a particular college? Does it mean that if Biology is the most popular in College X, then it is a strong program? </p>

<p>All it means is that it’s the most popular major at the school…it has the most students in that major. It could be an indication of a strong program, but not necessarily.</p>

<p>yeah the most popular majors at like half of the schools is psychology, that’s just because it’s popular not because it’s strong at every school</p>
