I am doing the Cornell essay, and it says to "Please limit your response to 650 words". Does that mean it has to be 650 words. Or does it mean it can't be more than 650 words?

If you’re going to Cornell, you should be able to figure this out yourself.

650 or shorter

@BurgerMan1 lol. Thanks @BrownParent

@BurgerMan1 and @Brownparent : is 300 words good, or is it too short?

I’m sure that word count is only there so no one submits a book for their essay. If your 300-word essay is great, then stick with it.

I would say 300 words is too short. I would aim for a minimum of closer to 500 words. When the PDF’s print out, an essay that is noticeably shorter than rest (half a page instead of the whole page) looks like you didn’t try very hard, even before I start reading.
This is your chance to tell Cornell about who you really are, you should make the most of it.

I gotten it to almost 500 words. But it seems kind of crappy, hopefully there are worse than mine.

Compare the 300 and 500 word versions. Submit the better one, regardless of word count.

I have applied to Cornell and I want to send them an email and tell them I only took two years of foreign language because of reasons. however, whats their email. Is it something like afunderscoreadmissions@cornell.edu
