What I'm trying to do here is suppress this thought in my head that I might've been accepted to this school. Nowhere in the mail does it say I'm admitted yet at the same time, nowhere does it explicitly say that it does not reflect the status of my application as was the case for UC's Alumni Scholarship program. One statement that got me was:

[quote]
The staff here at Berkeley Summer Sessions want to wish you the best of luck with your application and let you know about an exciting summer program we have for incoming freshmen.

We call it Freshman Summer Session and it's all about giving you a chance to take a few classes, get to know the campus, make some friends, and even save money.

To me, IF it does reflect my application status, I see it as two statements:

I got accepted
I got rejected and UCB wants me to "try again" -_-;

Of course, as mentioned, this is only IF it's true. At this point, I'm still believing this mail does not reflect my application/admission status, but I may be wrong, maybe fellow CC members here might know.
