<p>i believe a match is 50-50</p>
<p>A slight reach would be something like 20-25% maybe</p>
<p>a high match would be like 40%</p>
<p>reach = 10%</p>
<p>huge reach = close to zero chance of getting accepted.</p>
<p>A match is one that you think you'll get into. It isn't absolutely obvious that you'll get into (that's a safety), but one whose stats are level with yours. I define a match at 70%. This is also what the College Board says.</p>
<p>90+% = safety
80% = safe match
60% = high match
50% = slight reach
40% = reach
30% = reach
20% = big reach
10% = nearly impossible</p>
<p>So a slight reach, as I've always seen and understood it, is one that could go either way.</p>
