What does The essay count for?

<p>I know it counts for roughly 30% of the writing section, but is there any formula to get an idea of what my score will be?</p>

<p>I'm thinking conservatively -10 on mc and a 10/12 on the essay. Is this like a 650?</p>

<p>Yea the essay is about 250 of the points I think, but I am unsure how it is calculated.</p>

<p>I think a site (erikthered something) has SAT curves from released QAS’s. Search the forum for erikthered to find the link. You can find MC+E conversions (I think) for nice, average, and harsh curves.</p>
