what does this email mean?

________:

Greetings from Charlottesville! Let us congratulate you once again on both
your admission to the University of Virginia as well as to one of our
scholars programs. We will be hosting two online chats for you and your
fellow scholars on Monday, March 26. Because of time differences, one chat
will be that morning from 8:00 - 10:00 am EST and be geared towards students
who live outside of the United States. We will also have a second chat that
evening from 7:00 - 9:00 pm EST for all students living in the U.S. We hope
that having two will allow us to better reach all students who may be
interested.

i just got this today, but i haven't received any letters in the mail about my admissions except a likely letter from february. my friend told me that i might be an Echols Scholar is this true?
thanks!

It probably means you're in, are you instate or OOS?

i'm instate.
does this mean i'm an Echols Scholar?

I got the same email and yes it means you are an echols scholar, i believe.

Are they only announcing instate at the moment?

No, I'm in NJ and I got this e-mail.

yeah i got that same email and i called the admissions office and spoke with a dean. It means that you've been accepted but you got the email before you got ur official acceptance letter.

YES!!! I got this too! I live dangerously close to UVA, and I was bummed when people in Cali started getting admitted via mail and I didn't...haha... Congrats to everyone!!!

Remember my blog entry from Tuesday?
