What Does This Look Like To College Admission Offices?

I plan too found 1 or 2 clubs, and then I cofound 1.
The thing is, I am cofounding a medicine club and I found a business club. They really vary from one another – but I am still passionate about it.
Is founding too many clubs weird? What does this look like to college admission officers?

I don’t think it should be weird, as long as you show that you are committed to them. Good luck

“What Does This Look Like To College Admission Offices?” Like naked resume padding from someone who has been listening to the “how to apply to selective colleges” grapevine too much.

Listen. If these truly were your passion, you wouldn’t be here floating the idea with anyone. You’d be out there doing it, devil may care. Failure or success, you’d be out there. THe fact that you’re here sharing us your being a founder for 3 clubs (which I’m skeptical about in 99% of the time) shows your external appearance is more important than your inner drive/goals of these “clubs”. It calls into question your stated “passion”.

Selective colleges have seen the “founder” label more times than you can shake a stick at. What about your school/community is such a wasteland of organizations or service clubs that it had to await your arrival as savior?

When I interview kids who claim to be club founders, I ask them what’s their plan of succession – you know – who will take on the mantle of your passion after you leave the school’s halls. How are you choosing the next president/officers to ensure continuity. That pretty much shows the depth of the club in one simple question.

Step back. Get hitched to an existing club and make it better. Focus on your grades. Be authentic – not this shell of an over-achiever whom no one respects. Good luck.
