Well it sounds like you missed the deadline without finishing the application, and therefore would not be allowed to complete it. Where do you see this message?

Were you trying to apply ED or EA? The reference to a “regular deadline” makes me wonder if they’d consider the app in the regular decision round. Contact them to find out what they’re missing.
