What does this mean? (Clarification Please)

Hello! I applied to St. John’s University and recently received my acceptance letter stating “In recognition of your fine academic record, the Scholarship Committee is honored to present you with an St. Vincent De Paul Scholarship in the amount of $18,000…You may be eligible to receive the St. Vincent De Paul Scholarship for up to 4 years of continuous undergraduate study at St. John’s, provided you comply with the St. Vincent De Paul Scholarship’s conditions set forth on the St. John’s University Undergraduate Bulletin” Can anyone please clarify if this means that the $18,000 is distributed over the course of 4 years or I am able to receive $18,000 per year? This might be a foolish question, but I am a bit confused because each of my parents interprets it differently. Also, there is no information whatsoever about this scholarship on the St. John’s University Undergraduate Bulletin or anywhere else. I thank you in advance

I interpret it to be $18k per year for up to 4 years. Call and ask.
