What does this mean for my chances at other schools?

I just received a letter stating I was rejected from Stony Brook University and I was fairly confident I would get in. My SAT scores were above average except for my math which was about 20 points less (but I was about 150-200 points above total score). My GPA was right about average and my ECs were excellent. I wasn’t too upset about the fact that I didn’t get in as it wasn’t my dream school but it’s made me worried about my next few decisions. I’ve also applied to NYU, BU, Fordham, and Macaulay Honors college at various CUNYs. I feel like I have no shot now because all of those schools hold higher standards than Stony Brook. Should I feel this way or am I wrong and colleges are just wonky like that? Thank you in advance.

Are you saying your SAT score was 1650-1700? The schools you listed have an average of ~2000. And what do you mean by average GPA? Did you apply to any safety schools?

My SAT was a 1930. Stony Brook’s average is 1700-1800. The average GPA for stony brook was 89-94 and I have an 88. I understand those schools have around a 2000 average and that is why I’m worried. If I couldn’t get into Stony Brook, is there even any possibility at any of the other schools? @tttttttttttttom‌

And I did apply to multiple safety schools.

Oh sorry, I must’ve misread some stuff. I think you have a solid shot at Fordham; NYU and BU might be reaches, but I think you definitely could get into them. I know nothing about the other schools though. Good luck!
