Does macalester send out the acceptance letters via messaging (DHL, UPS, etc) or snail mail? What about internationals? Has any intl recieved their acceptance letter?

i got mine regular mail i think

Mine came regular mail as well.

i'm honestly getting worried now. my university counselor told me macalester would be a safety for me, but i didn't get an early acceptance from them or a likely from any of the schools that send them (amherst, dartmouth, swarthmore, williams, etc). so i haven't heard from any of my colleges since they're all regular decision, and even though it seems like everyone else here received a likely from somewhere, i guess that's normal. but i'm starting to think that my counselor overestimated my chances by a lot and i might not actually be accepted anywhere. and that scares me.

cameliasensis, take a deep breath & chill! Regular decision letters have not yet been sent by the schools you mention, and the lack of some type of early-write letter does NOT mean that you won't be accepted. I do hope that you have one "sure bet" on your list, just in case ... but even if you don't, it's a bridge you'll just have to cross IF you come to it. Don't worry, because worry doesn't change anything. It only makes you feel terrible. You only have a couple weeks to go & all of this will be over. HANG IN THERE!!!

I guess I misread last year's thread. It does look like people started hearing on 3/18 but it was via regular mail, not e-mail.

Given that the number of applications to Macalester increased quite a bit over last year, it may take a bit longer to mail out decisions this year.

kelsmom, thanks. :) I think I'm panicking because I don't actually have a sure-bet school -- since I'm not a US citizen I don't have an in-state public university to apply to, and since I need financial aid, I can only apply to private schools that offer need-based aid to foreign nationals (I've lived in the US for six years, but I have to apply as an international due to my visa type). My college counselor told me that Bryn Mawr, Macalester, and Wellesley would be safeties for me, and I stupidly believed her and didn't apply to any less selective schools. Now that April 1 is actually approaching, I'm thinking that was probably a bad decision. :(

cameliasinensis--Don't panic. You'll be fine. Acceptance should not be an issue for you--you'll undoubtedly get into several of the schools you've applied to. Plenty of applicants, including my own daughter (who has stats very similar to yours), has not yet received a likely. Good luck! Post it when you get some good news, which should be any day now.
