The coach at MIT sent me this message and I am a little bit confused by it

"I met with the folks in admissions today to go over your application. Overall it looks pretty good, but they are going to want to see all As this term, particularly in your math and science. Please let me know if you have any questions."

Currently I have a B in AP calculus BC, but I think I can bring it up to an A- by the end of the term. is that ok? or do A-'s not constitute as A's?

Also, does this term regard to the first quarter or the mid-year report? If it does regard the mid-year report, which I suspect it does. How does this work because acceptances are sent out December 15th, and my mid-year report is not ready by then?

Better get those quarter grades as high as you can. I’ll go out on a limb and say an A- is an A. They can accept you, and then when they get your semester grades(or any others) rescind your acceptance…

There are several athletes who have considered MIT and families who have posted here on CC. Best to send them a PM.

Remember MIT does NOT have slots nor recruit like D1s, Ivy League etc…Most of the sports at MIT are D3…again if you need first hand accounts, search CC and PM those parents.

On the MIT forum.
MIT Chris is there often as are several grads.
From what they post, you need stellar scores, grades, ECs etc…let your voice speak in those essays!! Sport can be a tip only…it’s a better probability…

However- your best use of time is on school work, grades etc and cast a wide net…

So, if you get accepted ED in December, and your second quarter grades show a C in something, they can take back your acceptance? Can they come up with another reason? If so, then aren’t you screwed because you had to withdraw all your other applications?
