What does this mean?

<p>I was looking at U of M degree requirement, and I found something rather bizarre.</p>

<p>(From FAQs)
Can I use AP credit for distribution?
No, AP credit gives you general credits toward graduation and sometimes fulfills prerequisites for other courses but can not be used for distribution.</p>

<p>Does this mean that I CANNOT use my AP credits to fulfill my degree requirements? Then why would someone take AP test?!</p>

<p>I seriously need your help...</p>

<p>A distribution requirement refers to the natural science, social science, and humanities requirements that all LSA students have to take to graduate. AP credits cannot satisify this requirement, but CAN count towards graduation (your degree) and serve as prerequisites. Hope this helped.</p>
