If someone from UVA sends you an email complimenting your essay and encouraging you to look at Echols Scholar program, is that a "likely letter"?

i would think so. who sent u an email?

Parke Muth- heard of him?

He's a Senior Assistant Dean and Director of International Admission at University of Virginia.

woah, i think he is hinting something. did u get it today?

yesturday. I didn't get an email. A friend of mine got it. I congratulated her and immediately told her it was a likely letter. But, I don't want to be mistaken and give her false hope. She's an amazing student and deserves to get in UVA. So, is it really a likely letter?

thats cool. wait are u an international?

She's international.

I dont know if its a likely letter, but i know that it probably means that shes in, like u said. If dean's complement applicants, im pretty sure thats a good thing

That's very meaningful if it's really from Parke Muth. Parke Muth is in Admission's Office, is their nationallly known expert on essay writing (he gives lectures all over the country on good essay writing), and is VERY heavily involved in their international recruitment.

it definitely leans her towards an acceptance.. i mean, an email from Muth? .. and an advice to apply to the scholar program? come on, that's awesome.

that's what i thought. :D
