What Does This Mean???

Hey guys, I was recently admitted to McGill Faculty of Arts pending final results. What does this mean? I'm in right? And they just want my end of year grades?

If so, I'm very scared. I might be getting a D in AP Biology (since i haven't turned in like 4 assignments). I can very soon turn that into a C+ or low B-. Here are the rest of my grades for the third quarter:
AB Calc - B+
AP Bio - D (at the moment, see explanation above)
AP US Govt - A+
AP Macro Econ - A+
AP French - A-
AP English Language - A
Latin 4 Honors - A
Photography - A

Thanks for any help. And let me know if McGill rescinds ppl.

get that grade up, mcgill DOES rescind, and will want a VERY good explanation if you don't take care of bio.

brassmonkey, out of curiousity, have you heard of any specific cases of McGill rescinding someone's admission?

Thanks. But can anyone explain what "Admitted pending final results" means? Am I in or not? Is this the standard acceptance message?

yea i got the "admitted pending final results" on my status too but i don't really understand what it means..so can anyone help out?

Admitted pending final results, for those who haven't read the other threads, basically means:
-you need to get your diploma;
-you need to avoid catastrophic drop in your overall grades when you graduate.

McGill won't let you in without your high school/cegep/whatever diploma (as there is always the possibility, however remote, one might not finish their current degree due to many unforeseen circumstances, such as sudden illness or major accident), and they expect you to have about the same grades coming in as you had in your application. That's it.

so then why do some people get just "admitted", thats what im confused about

Hey everyone,

I'm a student from Canada, and I got into McGill management a while ago with a 91% average for first term and a 89% average for second, but now my marks for 3rd term have dropped quite significantly, and my marks are as follows:

English - 92%
Math - 69-70% (im trying really hard but math is still a struggle for me)
Biology - 74%
Geography - 85%
French - 70%

Will McGill look at the averaged out mark along with 1st and 2nd term? I'm really worried about a rescinded admission, as well as my results for my Provincial exams. According to Minerva I only need my diploma to stay in right? Then what's this about not dropping too much from the mark you applied with? Because I'm dropping about 15-20%.

Does anyone know of anyone who had McGill take away their offer?

Thanks.

I also had 'Admitted--Pending Results' the first time I applied to McGill. Basically, they hadn't received my final H.S. transcript and were going to make it "official" based upon that. And also as Blobof said to make sure you don't screw up anything. After about two weeks I got this huge package from McGill telling me that I had been admitted and this is what I had to do if I wanted to go.

^^ if you're applying for mcgill management, your math mark is the most important...

i think everyone gets "admitted pending results," there is no "admitted"

I got admitted.

There is 'admitted' if you already have your high school/cegep/other diploma by the time you apply.

yah- the pending final results is just them waiting to recieve final transcript and proof of graduation

I have a similar question, I was admitted with about a 3.7-3.8 GPA overall and a 3.57 GPA from first semester senior year, I might get a C in my ap physics class but my second semester GPA will also be a 3.57… is that enough to get rescinded? I have no idea how harsh their policy is and it’s making me nervous, I might be able to swing a b in the class but having a c+ is making me nervous. So basically the question is, do they care more about maintaining your overall GPA or about each class individually?

I’m a U.S. student in the arts faculty by the way if that makes any difference.
