What does this mean?

I received what I believe is a denial letter from MSU this morning. I just wanted to see if I have any sort of chance if I send in my 7th semester grades. Can someone explain if I still have a chance or not. Here is what the letter says:
“Thank you for your interest in Michigan State University!
After an initial review of your application, we recognize your potential as a spartan. We would like to give you an opportunity to submit additional information to improve your chances of admission. Please submit the following information:
Mid-semester Grades
Once we receive the requested information, we will complete a second review on your application”
I have a 3.33 with an upward trend in grades from freshmen year and a 1280 SAT. I can understand why I was denied/deferred but wanted to see if anyone thinks I still have a chance.

It is a temporary denial I believe. You are on the verge of getting accepted. Has your counselor submitted your transcript for the first quarter/mid-semester? You applied 8 weeks ago which was a bit early with your GPA

It’s basically saying you will probably be accepted if your grades are good/consistent with your GPA/SAT

So far for the first quarter my grades are averaging a 3.81 GPA. I’m about to go and meet with my counselor to see exactly what this means and which grades I should truely submit. I’ll let u know when I get a clear answer.

Gotcha, good luck man! Let me know and i’ll try to help you as much as possible!

This is not a denial letter. We are asking for more information to make a stronger case to admit you. Ultimately, it means you’re close for admission, and we’d like to get you in, but we need more evidence for our review process. You absolutely still have a strong chance for admission! Send in your progress grades as soon as you can so your counselor can have the extra information to make a final decision.
