your son went to VA???

Yes (I have five), one of them went to VA for a few years. They have a terrific learning center with tutors from http://www.landmark.edu/ Landmark College in nearby Putney Vt.
It was perfect for him at the time. A BS with normal sports/kids and a great learning center. He is going to SMU next year.

My sons’ HS education:

Harvard-Westlake
VA
Salisbury
and next fall …ST.PAUL’S!!!
I have two little ones still at home.

All my kids are different. In other words they won’t all fit into the same BS. There is a BS out there for everyone.

sarum: that’s a lot of tuition! impressive! are you warren buffett’s son? btw, good luck with sps. my father and my sister went there and maybe me next year!

Thanks! I’m sure he will do fine.

funny, sarum!!!

The “average” SSAT or SAT of a school really does not matter. ALL schools will have students much higher and much lower than their average - that’s why it’s an average.
As many of us have stated before, your best chances of being accepted (and with FA if needed) is to apply to schools where you ARE ABOVE their average.
EVERY school will have classes that will challenge you. If they offer honors and/or AP, then don’t worry about it. All that matters is what YOU do. Not what the other students do.
