Hi! I’m a current junior from Massachusetts and have been going to school in the States since 2nd grade. I was born in Toronto while my dad was in grad school there - I have both legacy and Canadian citizenship. I’m not very familiar with the Canadian application process, so wanted to ask if either of those things will have an impact on my admissions, and if so, what that would be.
Legacy is not considered in Canadian university admissions. Since you are graduating from an American high school you will be evaluated as an American applicant (SAT/ACT etc. required). If admitted you would pay the Canadian tuition rate. That is the only benefit of Canadian citizenship.
Paying the CAN tuition rate is a pretty darn good perk! Otherwise, I would second @TomSrOfBoston points. Did not attend U of T, but spent many years in that city, and know many grads.
