What does "URM" stand for?

I know, I know, this is a stupid question. But I'm relatively new to this site and I see everyone using this word all the time, and it's driving me crazy that I can't figure out what it means. Help, anyone?

Don't worry. I recently figured it out myself. (I'm new too, hi!)

Under Represented Minority

i.e., not Asian or White.

Can SOMETIMES be a major tip in admissions decisions.

Aaaahhh. Okay. Thanks, guys! :)

No, its not just "not asian or white"

The three big, and arguably only effective URM categories are Native American, Latin/chicano, and African American.

Native American has the largest pull of any URM, Latin/african american are essentially the same in how much they would affect an applicant.
