I know that the average score for uva is 4.23 and this is on a weighted scale so does the unveristy care more about weighted gpa than unweighted gpa
UVA looks at rigor of curriculum in core courses and grades in those courses. All schools weigh their grades differently and some weighted classes are electives (which can up the weighted gpa).
yes they look at the rigor and are you taking the most rigourous curriculum available to you. They look at the grades in those classes. They want to see 5 cores - English, History/Soc. Sciences, Foreign Language, Math and Science all 4 years if possible. Remember, although your classes and grades are one of the most important to UVA, they do take a holistic approach meaning that having strong test scorres, ECs, essays and recs are all part of the package. Good luck!
Thanks
The average GPA stat is MEANINGLESS. Seriously. The statisticians are averaging GPA from all over the world. School/districts have their own methods for calculating GPA. So, the average is not something you should lean on.
We look at the courses you select and your grades in those courses. The GPA doesn’t tell us about that, the transcript does.
Thats awesome
