<p>If the summer job is relevant to their education or degree choice I think it’s acceptable - but personally, I’m all for talking courses during the summer. They’re usually a few short weeks and learning intensive - I always enjoyed my summer coursework and I graduated early (3 years) because of it. </p>
<p>As for internships - if it’s not paid, I want to say it’s not worth it, but sometimes it is. I prefer paid internships because the company has invested interest in the interns succeeding and doing well and they’re not just receiving free expendable labor.</p>
