omigosh. haha. my school's starting a newspaper too

We have 2, really. The first is the official newspaper: The AHS Forum, and was newly started this year. It is designed like a regular newspaper and has many articles and black-and-white pictures.

The second is an unofficial paper called "The Real Deal". It mostly contains articles that dryly make fun of and complain about our school. I love it--it is very honest and blunt about our school's "politics", and is much more interesting/fun to read than a regular newspaper.

Our school paper is a piece of garbage. Badly edited, useless, mundane topics, and all-around trite. 2/3 of the paper is sports and the other third is either about how wonderful our principal thinks the school or what contests people have won lately.

our school newspaper varies in length....a minimum of 8 pages, the highest its ever gotten is 16...we come out monthly so we get about an average of 9 issues per year...Last year we used pagemaker, but we are switching over to indesign...Our paper is black and white...but our pictures print out horribly and are barely visible...
how many people are on ur guys' staffs, my staff has never exceeded 10 members....but somehow we manage!

My school newspaper is (roughly) half-color and bilingual (English and Chinese). Everything is handled by students and as long as the contents pass the administrator's check, we can right about almost anything.

It's 24 pages long, bimonthly, with eight different sections.

This is a picture of the 1st template of the last issue: http://www.boomspeed.com/sakurasun/newspaper.jpg

It's pretty nice. Wins a lot of national awards. About 1/4 color, around 40 pages, student-run staff with virtually no censorship.

The layout is incredibly professional and doesn't seem like it'd be written by high schoolers.

30 pages every month, uncensored, color front page and centerspread. Viewpoint, News, Entertainment, Technology, Sports, Feature.

we have 50 members, but i think it's much better handled when there's a only a few members yet they're dedicated. though i'm hoping this year's group will be better in terms of handing in things on the deadline than last.

can everyone post up links to your newspaper so that we can see?
