What does your status page say?

Thanks--that worked!

rofl at least the three of you haven't been in prelim review since 12/12 =P

ugh, im not feeling too good about my chances at USC :/

thanks Theajay and svg, you guys made me feel better haha jk.

THEA -- there are a lot of highly qualified people who are still in prelim review. unless you're worried about scholarships (which aren't gonna happen for us), it's not a big deal.

12/3 here so I beat you all in the preliminary review hole!

wow.. i feel really bad for you guys.. glitch maybe??

Nope, I called and checked.

Call them to make sure they got it. Sometimes, their system has a few glitches.

chickenboi---- same situation.... i called USC and they said that they havent gotten through all of the mail yet and that i should call next week to make sure they got my mid-year grades.... you should probably do the same!

My status just changed to :

Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by April 1. If for some reason you don't receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning April 11th.

I never had "Prelimary review". Will I be getting "Completed review" later? Doesn't look like it? Sounds like they've made a decision already?

Haha, I'm in the exact situation as chickenboi and lilchica. I guess I'll just wait a week or so more!

I've been in preliminary review since 12/13. Honestly, USC has moved down from the very top of my list because of all this confusion.

What's the difference between "initial review", "currently reviewing" and "preliminary review"? Is there supposed to be an order??????

I'm also so confusing?

Weedeeg, you app is in the last stage of review before they make a decision. For some people, that happened very quickly (matter of days), and for others that status message has remained the same for weeks. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to how long the status remains the same, or how frequently they update that status. Some on this board have reported that status never changed from the preliminary review, but they got acceptance letter in the mail. I think it's great that SC has gone to an on-line status check, but it should be very clear to those who are waiting what the process is. Otherwise you are wondering and perhaps checking that status several times a day (!), thinking that maybe something will have changed from the last time. It's almost easier when you don't know where it is in the process, IMHO.

I completely agree with you, remark_gi. Ever since USC implemented the online status check, I've come down with a bad case of OCD, checking my stagnant status multiple times a week (sometimes day).

So if they ask you for midyear grades, is it for sure that you're out of the running for the trustee/presidential scholarship?

Crossing my fingers for Dean's or anything really. USC is so freakin' expensive and I don't really qualify for financial aid

Yes, if they do ask for midyear grades, you're pretty much out of the running for the two major scholarships. But if you haven't received the letter that basically tells you that you haven't received Trustee/Presidential, then you MIGHT still have a shot.

has everyone who hasnt gotton a scholarship gotton the letter saying they arent getting one of the two major ones?? im not the kind of kid whos going to get one of those scholarships, i know, but i still haven't gotton that letter...

i submitted my midyear report online over a month ago and a paper copy a week and a half ago and yet online i am STILL in prelim review asking me to submit my midyear report.

so in a nutshell, usc has paid NO attention to me whatsoever since about the beginning of january. and it sounds like everyone else has gotton something, even if it is a letter saying you arent getting a scholarship. i guess im just dead to them or something???
