What does your status page say?

This is weird but i still havnt got that letter from USC telling me that i havnt recieved the trustee or the presidential scholarships and that i need to send in my mid-year grades....( although i am an international student from india and the post has proven to be ridiculously slow)......i hope it dosnt mean anything..

aj16,

did you interview for the trustee or presidential? my s hasn't heard anything either.

So we know that most top-flight applicants got their acceptances earlier than everyone else (not scholarship applicants). Then, what about the rest of us? Should we be expecting acceptances starting mid-March? Is there a specific date? Or does USC send out letters pure randomly?

Maybe it was lost in the mail aj16?

Edit: Haven't been able to figure that one out Kev. It's not alphabetical order. I don't think it's by region. So I go with random.

guitars....nope i did not...im not even accepted yet

Kevster...i think they continue to send out acceptances in order of preference cuz iv noticed the people with our status are a bit lower than the ones accepted in the last wave...those with their mid-year grades a a bit lower than us and they would recieve acceptances after us and so on and so forth...( provided they dont get rejected)

csquaredx: I'm starting to feel the same way! AHH!

Has anyone that has been accepted had their statuses changed from "we request no further information" TO "reviewed by the admission committee"???

So if my d's status has been the same since 2/7, saying "Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by April 1. If for some reason you don't receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning April 11th," any opinions about if that's a good sign or if she's been rejected since we haven't heard anything yet? Stats are 27 ACT and 3.85 GPA, with amazing recs and ECs.

oh and srabiee90, is that true that no one with a 4.0UW got rejected??

I'm 4.0 UW, 1/688 in rank, and I'm freaking out right now cause my status says basically don't send us anything, we've had enough of you ("Your mid-year grades have been received and we do not need any further information...") and it seems like everyone who's getting accepted has gone to the "admission committee" stage and yeah. :(

I'm sure it's not true. More than just us on CC applied. =/ If it were true, I wouldn't be freaking out.

For the people who got the letter about no scholarships who were reminded to send in mid-year grades, remember that the letter said "there will be no further information regarding your application until late March or early April."

so are you saying that we will be one of the last to be accepted or the first to be rejected?

They said that House? I don't remember that... Or maybe I didn't really look beyond me not getting a scholarship. xD

I am ready for a rejection. Whatever.

elisax: My s has same "we have received..." status as you. 4.0UW, 2150 SAT, great satIIs....he did apply to film school though. Did you apply to one of the special programs?

We did have one change on his financial aid status today though. It now says "we need this to determine your eligibility". Yesterday it only said they had not received. We did already send but they must not have gotten to it.... however, why would they point it out if he's not going to be accepted?

The letter also says "However, before I continue, I want to make clear that we have not yet reached a decision on your application; this communication is nothing more than an update-you are still being considered for admission to USC." I think they put that on there so we wouldn't jump to conclusions regarding the letter. It is simply what it is, a letter telling you that you did not qualify for the Trustee or Presidential scholarship.

uh oh..
they're currently reviewing my application...(my status changed today)
=|

My status has been on "your application is being reviewed..." since 2/13 and no news yet? I can't decide if I should be worried or not

hey cheerchick012, i have a weird date on my status change as well. Mine changed to review on 2-22. There were two big clumps in early feb/late jan and another big clump in late feb. Not sure what our dates of change mean :(

The weird thing about the status page is that it is not consistent. Many people reported their status changing from "application is being reviewed" to "we have acted on...", which is when the committee has made their decision, now (early on), and it's yes. Others, my S included, status never changed from "application being reviewed" and yet his acceptance came in the mail this past Saturday. Now, several days later, the status has changed to "we have acted on your app" - so don't lose hope! It is still the beginning of the month.......many days to go until April 1. Hang in there, tough as it is. Think Trojany thoughts :>)

My status has been the same since Jan 17th.

We have completed a preliminary review of your application. We sometimes request additional information (senior-year grades, for example), so be sure to watch the mail. You may submit senior year grades at www.usc.edu/MDYResponse, even if we did not specifically request them. We are continuing to review applications and expect to mail notification of a decision by April 1st.

So then, I e-mailed my counselor to ask why my status hasn't changed and this was the reply:

Don’t worry—I double checked your file and you’re all set. That’s just our generic message for students whose files are complete.
