I was just wondering how many of you CCers watch what you eat (not losing weight, but not going overboard on junk/fast food...)

I am 5' 8" and weigh 120 pounds, yes i am skinny but i still dislike just about EVERY fast food place out there, i dont drink any soda (yuck), and i usually only snack on granola bars more "healthy" stuff. I also try and bike or work out 6 days a week (~1 hr/day) so i dont become scrawny as well as skinny

im just curious as to how many of you are like me...or the absolute opposite (if you dont mind you should put weight/height along with eating and exercise habits)......

I don't eat junk food cause I already have crappy health (really bad eyesight, tons of acne, not-straight knees, etc). I don't want to limit my lifespan or physical capabilities anymore. I'll eat some chips on long car rides or if I'm really desperate, but I just don't like them in general. I basically eat/drink whatever's around, so I'll drink a 3 L bottle of Fanta in two days if we have it, but if not I won't actively seek it. Same with chocolate, cookies, and crackers (all exceptions to the junk food rule :P).

My favorite drinks are V8 Splash, Frusion, and water. My favorite grains are white rice, Honey Bunches of Oats, and grilled-cheese sandwiches. My favorite, uh, "other" food is fruit yogurt/custard. My favorite vegetable is carrots.

On a typical school day, I'll have chocolate milk and buttered white toast for breakfast; two grilled cheese sandwiches, a sandwich bag full of carrots, a bottle of V8 Splash, and sometimes a bottle of water for lunch; and white rice, fried vegetables, lentil soup, and home-made yogurt for dinner.

Since I can't drive and when I go out it's usually at a friend's we barely eat out, so that isn't a problem for me right now.

I used to run 2-3 miles almost daily over the summer but I just can't find time/energy during the school year - and especially during the winter. Other than that the most exercise I get is from carrying books (they're REALLLLLLY heavy), running between classes, walking to people's houses, and whatever we do in gym.

I'm on a "don't pork out" diet. I eat whatever I want, but not in huge amounts, just twice normal serving sizes lol. In the winter time I probably jog only three or four times a month but otherwise I go almost daily.

well im 5'7" and 118lbs and i am a runner and that in itself makes me want to eat healthy. i avoid junk foods except the rare chocolate bar lol (its just too good). and i dont drink anything else except water or milk. soda=never (the taste is ok but it hurts my mouth lol.. and its so bad for you). oh for lunch i sometimes bring those SmartOnes or LeanCuisines because my mom's in WeightWatchers and she loves those and buys them in bulk. theyre yummy!!

basically for breakfast i have a bowl of cereal (or if im late i get a roll at the deli because i LOVE rolls even though they may not be that healthy). lunch i have a SmartOnes/LeanCuisine usually, or else a peanut butter sandwich. no snack (because i run after school M-Th and i dont want to have junk inside me). after school i sometimes have a snack of goldfish or something (if we have avocados, i make myself an avocado sandwich... SO DELICIOUS). then dinner can be anything. its usually pretty healthy, w/veggies. once in a while we'll have pizza which is ok but i dont like to have it that much. and i usually dont have dessert

so yeah i'd like to have some some fruit in there but we dont always have fruit in the house

5'10, 135.
I used to eat junk food, though I was never overweight. I started playing basketball and by the 8th grade all junk food and soda just tasted disgusting. It's funny how the more exercise you get, the more you like healthy food and the less food you want in general. At least for me. My team practices about 2 hours each day almost all year round so that has kept me able to eat whatever I want. :)

I'm not obsessed with being healthy but I was fat when I was younger so I'm always watching my weight...I HATE soda (it makes me feel too full and I don't like the carbonation), I avoid ice cream because it makes my teeth hurt (so do other sweets...but I still eat those from time to time) and I run outside or on the treadmill (full incline) for about 3 miles everyday (unless I have absolutely NO time)...I also do crunches and push-ups (weights) everyday also...

I've always been genetically skinny. Plus, I hate fast/junk food in general-- occasionally I'll eat animal crackers or drink gatorade if it's shoved in my face, but other than that, I'm an extremely healthy eater. I play a lot of sports, so I exercise almost every day of the week.

I am 5'7 and about 130....god i sound so heft compared to everyone else but i'm really not! I can't even imagine how you look unefleursauvage....i don't think that is safe. My SUPER skinny friend weighs around 95 pounds adn she is 5'3 ish...so i think you should consider gaining a bit of weight. And gatorade isn't unhealthy!

But I do have a chocolate problem. At LEAST one chocolate thing a day. Everyday. But that is the only really bad thing I eat. Well actually...I make brownies sometimes (chocolate). Or cake. Actually, I really like to cook so i always make these really fattening things. The only thing that is not "fit" about my body is my stomach...but tennis is starting so hopefully i will get some rock hard abs. hah.

Stop feeling so guilty. Indulge while you can - it gets more difficult to metabolize this stuff when you're 50 years old and your stomach has moved down to your intestines and your entire digestive tract is tangled and obscured from its original functions.

I go to the Y at least three times each week and more if I can, and at home I use stretch bands and do some calisthenics...it's soo funny to see all the people taller than I am who weigh about the same, but I put on muscle very easily, and I'm more muscular than a lot of the girls I know, and I'm still slim :)
As for eating, I really avoid pop and candy (absolutely noooo gum!!), and if there's nothing around that I want to eat, I'm most likely to just not eat...I always go for veggies and fruit and pick protein over carbs.

i'm 5'5" and like many other girls, concious about my weight so that's undisclosed at the moment :)

but anyway i'm really athletic, and play sports year round. aside from practices when i'm in season, i try to get to the gym about 5x a week to do cardio (running, elliptical, etc..) and weight training. i'm kinda obsessed with staying in shape and exercising, but my eating habits aren't too great. for the most part i eat pretty healthy but i'm addicted to sweets, especially chocolate.
