Option 1: Grow with Google Developers Scholarship Program
Learned key skills in creating mobile/web applications in Android Studio; developed several interactive multi-screen apps for teaching basic math. It was meant for people 18+ but idk how I got accepted.
Option 2: NASA High School Aerospace Scholars
Highly reputable, cross-Texas program including 6 month online training module surrounding Martian Exploration and current space exploration ventures. Will participate in on-site experience and activities at the Johnson Space Center for one-week internship kinda thing.
Add on: I’m going as a Computer Science Major
They are both fabulous opportunities, but if you are committed to CS I would go with option #1.
Any way to do both? They both sound amazing!
@Groundwork2022 Ya I did the Google Program in 10th grade (on the info website it says strictly for 18+) but idk why they took a high school kid; I even talked about high school activities and stuff on my application. It’s a great program, not too heavy on your schedule either. It helped me pick up Android Studio much quicker and work on some mini projects. I’m doing the NASA program rn (ima junior) and I really like it. I’m not a huge fan of the whole space study of planets and stuff but the program is quite engaging. I’m really looking forward to the onsite experience. Just search both of the programs up, they should come up.
