I've been reading through a lot of posts and people are constantly commenting that the extra circulars do not stand out enough. UPenn is my dream school and I'd love to go there.

Here are my ECs so far:

-Student Council Rep. (Freshman only)
- Volunteer at local Assisted Living Home. (Co-Founder of that club).
- Volunteer at Hospital once a week.
- Outside of school junior entrepreneurial classes at a local college.
- Writer for school newspaper

Clearly not too impressive. I really need something that will make me stand out but I don't know what. Surely I am not on the right track at all for UPenn but I still have time to turn it around. Any suggestions? What are some clubs that are very important to UPenn? I think I want to pursue a career in business but my school hardly offers any business related opportunities. (No FBLA club or anything and I don't have a clue how to go about starting one).

What are some other outside of school activities I could do that would also help my chances? (Activities along the line of business classes and volunteering at a hospital).

Also, is it really important to do a sport at my school? I do sports outside of school but not on a school team. I am not that athletic so I'd rather not do one but if you think it is something that is very important please let me know.

I'd really like to stand out among other applications by doing something extremely unique and individualistic. Thanks so much for your time and help!

One more random question... is taking the SATs crucial? Or would I be okay with just taking the ACTs if I did really well on them. Thanks again.
